I called Wade and he got me on his schedule for the next week. He was very punctual with communication and with home owners. Wade showed on the date at the time designated. Wade did his inspection which he was very thorough and took him approximately 3 hrs. We've had a prior inspection done on another house and he wasn't as thorough as Wade. Wade did a great inspection and we were very pleased with the report. He did such a good job it made our decision easy. If we need another inspection he will get our call.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Posted on Google Shannon Murphy17 January 2026Excellent service! Before choosing a home inspection company, make sure you understand exactly what they do—and don’t—inspect. I bought an older home “as-is” and expected a thorough, safety-focused inspection. What I received was a bare-minimum, checklist-style review that failed to identify major issues. Within 10 days of moving in, I faced serious electrical failures, plumbing problems, and even sewage back-up flooding that damaged new carpeting. None of these issues were mentioned in the inspection report. Electrical: • Inspectors don’t test outlets with items plugged in, which I didn’t know. My dishwasher outlet later failed and triggered major electrical problems. • The electrical panel only got a visual check, yet soon after move-in, it began sizzling and partially failed. • My home has zero GFCI outlets—an obvious safety concern—yet the report claimed they had been “reset”. Plumbing: • Plumbing was mostly inspected visually. My main line had tree roots at the clean out drain cover, which caused a stoppage in the primary bathroom shortly after moving in. This caused flooding the bathroom and damaging new carpeting. Had the cover been removed vs only the location being noted, I would have known about the issue. What I learned: A standard inspection is extremely limited, especially for older homes. I should have unplugged the dishwasher and garbage disposal so all outlets could be tested and requested specialist inspections. At the time of inspection, the home was vacant and fully accessible. Although the company’s owner contributed to some plumbing repair costs (which I appreciate), I still feel the inspection was far below what is advertised on their website. If I could redo the process, I would hire licensed electricians, plumbers, and HVAC contractors for full safety evaluations. The extra cost would be worth the peace of mind.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Posted on Google Larry Brickman12 October 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Posted on Google Julia Goertz8 October 2025We had a great experience with Gentry Home Inspections, LLC. He definitely caught several important things we had the seller fix. However, there were big things that were missed. The electrical in the house was done all wrong. That was immediate 700 dollar fix. The oven outlet had a dryer outlet and was wired horribly. The AC unit was not up to code and we had to have people come out twice to fix it. Being first time homeowners we really relied on his inspection to see if it was a safe home for us. Honestly if he had caught those issues we wouldn’t have bought it. But is okay and all worked out. Thank you Wade for catching what you saw.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Posted on Google Toby Walker7 August 2025The inspector had an eye for detail and had answers to all our questions.
